Boo Ghost Treat Boxes and Free Printable Boo Tags
I can’t believe that Halloween is about two weeks away. We spent the weekend adding some scarecrows and pumpkins to our fall decor. Little Bug fell in love with the scarecrow at our front door and now says hi and bye to him. It’s really quite cute.
One thing that I’ve been working on this holiday is dressing up basic treat boxes. I love that you can buy such a fun assortment of basic treat containers these days (which is why we sell so many options in our shop). Although you can just use the boxes the way they come, I love brainstorming creative ways to dress them up. So for this Halloween, I’ve designed boo ghost treat boxes with free printable boo tags.
The base of this treat box is a Chinese food take out box. What’s great about these boxes is that they are food safe, which means that the FDA has approved them for direct food contact. Most treat containers are not approved and food should always be wrapped before putting it in the box. Make sure to always check whether the treat boxes you choose are approved before buying boxes, so you know how you need to package the treats. For Chinese food boxes, you can put food directly in them including candy, brownies or other sweets. This makes them the perfect treat container.
You Will Need
White Chinese Food Take Out Box
Black Cardstock
Scissors
White Glue
Free Printable Boo Gift Tags
1. Cut out a large oval mouth for the ghost. Cut out two smaller oval eyes.
2. Glue the eyes and mouth onto one side of the white take out box.
3. Fill the box with your favorite Halloween treats and sweets.
4. Print out your Free Printable Boo Gift Tags. Punch out using a 2.5 inch scallop punch or cut around the square shape.
Punch a small hole in the top of your gift tag. Tie your Boo Gift Tag onto your box. Use as a special Halloween treat or even gift out mini ones to trick or treaters on Halloween night.
This project makes a great family craft or class project on Halloween. You could even have kids make them at a Halloween party and use them to take home their candy treats!
Happy Celebrating,
