Free Printable Football Coloring Pages

As we manage a massive heat dome and temperatures over a hundred degrees, I will be the first to admit that I’m starting to think about fall.

Maybe it’s the cooler temperatures that are enticing me.  But I also think it’s because of football season.  We recently started hearing the high school marching band practicing in the evenings and I realized that preseason training will be starting in a couple of weeks.

With football season, comes football themed parties.  All kinds – birthdays, watch parties, tailgate afternoons, halftime breaks and even the biggest game day of all in early February.  

And at those football parties, you will need to entertain your guests.  There are lots of fun ways to keep guests busy.  One of my favorites is setting up a coloring table.

These football coloring pages include 9 different designs.  The designs are spunky, sporty and a little whimsical (bring on the t-rex quarterback).  Since my goal is always to design something a little different – some of the designs have animals and dinosaurs playing football.  This is sure to add even more fun to any football party.

There are also some more classic designs of kids playing football.  And of course, I included some girls playing too.  Since having tossed a football around the backyard with my daughter and son, it really is a sport for all.

How to Set Up a Football Coloring Station

One of my favorite ways to use coloring pages at a party is by setting up a coloring station.  Creating a football themed version is the perfect activity for a football themed party, family tailgate or neighborhood game day get together.  It’s a great way to keep kids entertained while the adults enjoy the game.

For a Football Coloring Station, start by choosing a table or other flat surface.  Cover with brown butcher paper that can get colored on and protect the surface of the table.  This is especially helpful if kids are using marker.

Then, download and print an assortment of the Free Printable Football Coloring Pages.  Use white copy paper for the best results.  Be sure to print extra sheets so you aren’t trying to make more during the party.

You can also set out football themed coloring books that guests can take home.

Decide on an assortment of coloring materials.  For little ones, I recommend a variety of crayons.  Since it’s a football party, you can put football shaped crayons for extra fun.  Older kids enjoy markers.  Choose washable varieties to keep clothes, hands and the rest of the party smear-free. You can also include football stampers, football themed stickers or fun stamping markers.  (affiliate)

Set up a clothesline nearby the coloring station with mini clothespins (these football themed ones are adorable).  Then, guests can display their artwork once it’s complete and you can have an easy DIY decoration.

You can also add some football word searches on the activity table.  This is a great way to vary up the coloring and keep kids engaged for longer.
