One of my favorite parts about this football hat is how versatile it is. Your guests can personalize it for any team that they’re cheering for. So whether you use it to celebrate your local high school team heading to the play offs or your favorite football team playing in the Super Bowl, this football hat can do it all.

The Design

When designing this football hat, I pulled inspiration from our football water bottle labels. Using the field markers and “Touchdown” on the sides, it added an extra football feel.

The front of the hat features a football with space for guests to write the team they are cheering for. If guests want to color the entire hat, we found it helpful to use permanent black markers to write on top of the crayon.

The hat is in black and white so kids can decorate it with their favorite team colors, numbers, symbols and even football stickers. Then, they can wear their personalized football hats at the party.

It’s the kind of activity that keeps hands busy and energy focused. Which can be especially helpful when everyone is waiting for the game (or snacks) to be served.

Budget Friendly

If you’ve been visiting our site long enough, you know that one of the most important things I consider when entertaining is the party budget. And what I love most about party printables is that they are budget friendly.

This paper football hat is no different. It is a great low cost activity option for a football party. You don’t need special materials or fancy tools. Just white cardstock (affiliate) and a few basic craft supplies. That makes it the perfect craft for last minute party planning, a classroom activity or football themed event where you might need to make multiple hats at once.

Plus since it’s mostly paper, the clean up is quick and easy.

How to Make your Paper Football Hat

You Will Need:

Scissors
Crayons
Black Permanent Marker
Stapler
Stickers and Washi Tape (optional)

Cut out the pieces of the paper football hat. Note – If you are have a group make this hat or are using this activity with younger children, we recommend cutting out the pieces in advance. This helps save time and let’s guests focus on decorating their hats.
Decorate the football hat. Use crayons, markers or colored pencils to color the hat. Add football themed stickers (regular or foam ones) and washi tape. You can also add some football themed ribbon or provide stencils to draw football designs. (affiliates)
Assemble the hat. Attach the “Touchdown” strips to each side using a stapler. The number of strips you will need is determined by the size of your child’s head. We recommend starting with one and adding as needed.
Show off your hat. Wear it for the party and cheer on your team!
