How to Play Halloween Bingo
Halloween Bingo is played just like any other bingo game.
Give each player a unique bingo card. This is important so not everyone gets bingo at the same time. Also, give players a bunch of markers.
Cut apart the calling cards and place them in a bowl, basket or Halloween bucket.
Choose one calling card at a time and announce the Halloween word. Players look at the matching image on their Bingo card and place a marker on it.
The first player to get five spaces in a row, WINS! The winning row can go:
- Across
- Down
- Diagonal
And instead of shouting Bingo, players can shout “Boo!”.
The BOO! Space
Instead of the traditional FREE space in the center of the Bingo board, this Halloween version uses a BOO Space.
Players can automatically cover the Boo space at the beginning of the game.
Although a small detail, it’s sure to help make the game Halloween-y.

Fun Ways to Play Halloween Bingo
Even though playing traditional Halloween Bingo is fun, you can always put a little twist on it by changing the winning pattern.
Some ideas are:
Four Corners: Cover all four corners as well as getting five spaces in a row.
Halloween X: Make an X shape across the board.
Picture Frame: Cover the outside edge of the board.
Blackout Bingo: Cover every space on the board first.
B is for Boo: Create the letter B with their markers. Or the letter H for Halloween.
Halloween Bingo Prize Ideas
Although prizes are not necessary when playing Bingo, kids usually love having something small to win. Most importantly, when choosing prizes, keep them small and inexpensive.
Some fun prizes include: (affiliates)
- Glow in the Dark Spider Rings
- Mini Flashlights (these are great for trick or treating)
- Halloween Temporary Tattoos
- Spooky Squishies
- Fun Waterproof Halloween Stickers
- Glow Sticks
- Halloween Pencils or Pens
- Mini Halloween Puzzle Cubes
- Pumpkin Shaped Crayons
You could also create a Halloween prize bucket filled with a variety of prizes. Have each Bingo winner choose a prize after each game.
Halloween Bingo for a Classroom Party
When I taught, Halloween Bingo was one of my favorite Halloween classroom party games to set up for my students. Mainly because it’s easy to explain and doesn’t require a lot of space.
You can set the game up as one of your classroom party stations or play together as an entire class.
When planning your classroom party, choose the version that works best for the amount of time you have. Short on time? Choose one round of traditional bingo. Have time for a couple of rounds? Go beyond traditional bingo with four corners, blackout or a Halloween letter.
You can even let students serve as the caller. Or add the Halloween words into a Bingo caller app and have technology call the words for you.
Make your Halloween Party Simple
Halloween parties don’t have to be complicated. Sometimes the best activities are the easiest to put together.
Print your Halloween bingo cards ahead of time, set out some markers, and you’ll have a ready to go Halloween activity whenever you need it.
It’s perfect for a classroom party, family Halloween night, play date or any time you need an easy Halloween game.
