Welcome to a brand new year! Can you believe we are saying goodbye to 2025 and hello to 2026?
Every year, we host a kid friendly New Years party. There’s something magical about ringing in the New Year with family and friends. We play crazy kid friendly games (have you ever heard of a whipped cream challenge?) and share an overflowing nacho bar.
This year, I also want us to slow down a little and reflect on the joys 2025 brought together. So this year, I’m also adding this Free Printable Happy New Years Coloring Page. It’s a fun and easy New Years activity to kick off the evening’s celebrations.
The Design
I had a lot of fun creating this Happy New Years Coloring Page. I wanted a design that the kids (and adults) could color, but also reflect about the year that’s past and the one to come.
I made sure to include space to write about some of your favorite things from this past year. And think about someone who has helped you grow.
There is also a spot to put some of your goals for the upcoming year.
But, my favorite part is the year’s highlight reel. Using a film strip as inspiration, I created spots for special moments that happened this past year. There is space for a “Fun Moment”, “Place You Visited”, “New Creation”, and “Happy Day”. You can draw little scenes or write captions about them in each one.
The other highlight is the “Annual Mood Meter”. This is the perfect place to rank how you’re feeling about this year. Whether you wanted to sleep through it, be silly or roll your eyes at 2025, choose the emoji face that best fits your mood about the year.
How to Use
This Happy New Years Coloring Page makes a creative activity during a New Year’s party or other end of the year gathering. Simply download your Free Printable Happy New Years Coloring Page. Print as many copies as you need on white copy paper and place at a table with crayons, markers and colored pencils.
Kids can color them during the party or even turn them into a decoration by hanging them on a wall.
You can also use this coloring page as a calming creative break during a snow day or a family activity for a cozy night in, especially on those days when kids need something fun and low prep to do. After completing the page, kids can display their work and use it to inspire them during the coming year.
Another idea… transform the completed coloring pages into a mini “New Year Art Book” to make a keepsake book to enjoy all the year through. Collect the pages and staple them together. You can make a cover as a family.
Or place them each page in sheet protectors and organize into a binder. Then, you can add to them with new pages every year.
One Note…
I decided when creating this design, NOT to include the current years. This is omitted on purpose. I wanted to make a Happy New Years Coloring Page that you can use year after year. And that doesn’t need to be updated.
So the pennant flags – “Goodbye” and “Hello” – are purposely blank. You can write in the current years when you use the design.
