Holiday Craft Features in Bird’s Party Magazine

The holidays are upon us and, like every year, I am quite excited.  We started off the season early this weekend by baking sugar cookies and finding new Christmas music for our IPod.  Always need to be ready in the car for the unexpected holiday traffic jam!

If you like celebrating and entertaining around the holidays, you won’t want to miss the newest issue of Bird’s Party Magazine.  Filled with creative and innovative entertaining and decorating ideas, this free online magazine is a great way to get into the holiday spirit.

I’m also excited to share that a few of my holiday craft ideas were featured in this winter’s publication.  We strung gumball garlands, put together an advent gift tree and crafted a set of candy cane napkin rings for your table decor.  Here are some quick notes about the crafts I worked on, but definitely check out the magazine for full detailed directions and how to photos.

1.  Holiday Gumball Garland

Looking to put a new spin on the traditional cranberry and popcorn decoration, this sweet holiday swag features red and green gumballs strung together with white pom poms.  To make, string together the gumballs and pom poms to create a festive pattern.  It’s a great addition for any holiday tree or mantel.  The question is who gets to gobble down the gumballs after the holiday?

2.  Advent Tree

Always trying to make creative advent calendars, this advent tree is the perfect centerpiece to a side table, dining table or even an accent in a kids room.  Hung from gold spray painted branches, fill small muslin bags with sweet little gifts your little ones are sure to love.  Each muslin bag includes a stenciled number to know which day to open it on.  Part of the fun with this advent calendar is locating the bags in the branches.  You can also dress up the tree with vintage ornaments and other baubles to make it a true holiday decoration.

3.  Candy Cane Napkin Rings

These yarn covered napkin rings are sure to add a festive touch to any holiday brunch table.  Cut down empty cardboard tubes and wrap with red yarn to create a jolly red napkin ring.  Using a glue gun, attach two mini candy canes in the shape of a heart.  This pretty table accessory would also make a wonderful accent for Valentine’s Day, you just need to save the candy canes now!

This is just our sneak peek to what is inside this beautiful magazine!  Check out all of the wonderful parties and other fun holiday crafts that you’re sure to love.  It’s a great way to get started on crafting through the holiday season!

Happy Celebrating,

Natalie
