Free Printable Love Token Cards

How do you say I love you to someone? This is a question I’ve been thinking a lot about as Valentine’s Day has neared this year. Glancing through some of the weekly circular ads yesterday that Little Bug had dragged out of the recycling, I couldn’t help but laugh at all of the pictures of teddy bears, candy, chocolate and other commercial ways to say you love someone.

I remember being in middle school and getting excited about receiving my first teddy bear from a boy. It wasn’t until a few months later, after the break-up, that it ended up on a table at our spring yard sale. Love was so in the moment back then.

Nowadays, I cherish family dinners featuring favorite take out restaurants and occasional surprise flower bouquets after a really rough day. It’s the little things in life everyday that really show someone how much you care. I wanted to create that you can use this Valentine’s Day or throughout the year to tell someone special how much you love them. They’re called love tokens.

They’re the perfect size to slip under a sweetheart’s pillow, into a child’s lunchbox or even sneak into your husband or boyfriend’s briefcase. They should be an unexpected moment of the day that surprises your loved one and reminds them how much you care.

To package your love tokens, use a small glassine bag (about 2″ by 3.5″) and heart sticker seal. Print out the free printable love token cards and cut the little cards apart. Then, slip a card into an glassine bag (or you could make your own envelope).

Seal your love token cards with a heart kraft sticker, glue dot or other adhesive. We used large heart stickers on the back of our bags to leave space to write a To/From or other sweet note.
