Patriotic Fruit Kabobs
One of my favorite additions to a summer dessert table is fruit. I love serving guests the bounty of the season and enjoy filling the table with an assortment of berries this time of year. I can never get enough strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and even raspberries.
Instead of just serving fruit in bowls or on a platter, you can reinvent this dessert by creating fruit kabobs. For whatever reason, simply skewering fresh fruit on a wooden stick seems to make it more exciting. It also makes the fruit into an easy single serve dessert that guests are sure to love.
For our Fourth of July party, I added a 4th of July twist to the traditional fruit kabob and made patriotic fruit kabobs . This easy summer treat included my favorites of the season – strawberries, blueberries and a sweet addition of, you guessed it, marshmallows. Little Bug loved them (she’s really into marshmallows right now!) and it was a great way to give guests add a touch of sweetness to this delicious dessert.
You Will Need:
Wooden Lollipop Sticks
Strawberries – Quartered
Blueberries
Marshmallows
1. Arrange all of your fruit kabob ingredients in an assembly line.
2. Create your fruit kabob. Add a strawberry, marshmallow and two or three blueberries. Keep repeating the pattern until your wooden lollipop stick is filled.
3. Serve to your guests and enjoy!
I love desserts that get the entire family involved in making them. The kids are sure to love skewering these patriotic fruit kabobs. They love adding all of the different fruits and sneaking a marshmallow here and there!
Happy Celebrating,
Natalie
