Free Printable St. Patrick’s Day Wish for a Friend

The one thing that I’m most grateful for in life are my friends.  Especially those lifelong friends that never seem to leave your side no matter what happens, where you move to or what crazy things you do in middle age.

So, I’m always looking for special ways to say thank you.  One of my favorite ways of telling friends that I appreciate them is sending snail mail.  Although it’s much faster to send a text, sending an actual card in the mail takes a lot more effort.  And I think that effort is acknowledged by good friends.

Plus, there’s something exciting about opening your mailbox and discovering a hand addressed envelope.  Addressed to you.  

The Design

So, I created this St. Patrick’s Day Wish.  And it was a lot of fun to design. 

The design features an originally written St. Patrick’s Day wish.  It is based on an Irish blessing that I found. 

My favorite part is that it captures exactly the blessings that I want to bestow on my friends – buckets of happiness, some extra luck, a few shamrocks and an important reminder about what a special friend they are.  

I also added some pretty watercolor shamrocks and heart to make it feel even more special.

The wish is designed on a St. Patrick’s Day card for you to send to someone special.  There’s also an art print if you prefer to give a framed version.

The card measures 5″ x 7″, so it’s the traditional mailing size.  The art print measures both 5″ x 7″ and 8″ x 10″.  The smaller version makes a nice addition to a desk or bookshelf.  The larger print is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day wall art.

How to Make your St. Patrick’s Day Wish Card

Making your own St. Patrick’s Day Wish Card is easy. 

To make it into a St. Patrick’s Day card, print on heavy white cardstock (my favorite version is here). Then, trim the card along the dotted lines.  Fold in half using a scoring board. (affiliates)

Once you’ve finished making your card, you can write a sweet message inside and send.  Place in a white 5″ x 7″ envelope. (affiliate)

Who to Send It To

This St. Patrick’s Day wish is a sweet St. Patrick’s Day gift for anyone special.  Although it was designed for special friends, you can also give it to:

• A favorite teacher
• Your child’s coach
• A sibling
• A neighbor
• Your child’s babysitter or daycare teacher
• A special co-worker
• A grandparent
• Someone who could use a little extra encouragement
